Yoshiko Melanson, of Lynn, age 95, died Wednesday February 14th at her son’s home in Salem, surrounded by her family after a brief illness.
Born in Tokyo, Japan on Dec. 8, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Matsujiro and Kei Nakamura. Yoshiko attended schools and graduated high school in Tokyo. She moved from Japan to Lynn in 1952, and has resided in Lynn ever since. She was employed as a seamstress at Wayne Manufacturing in Lynn for many years and also was employed at the Bisuteki Steak House in Revere as a waitress for 25 years until she retired. Yoshiko enjoyed sewing and traveling back to Japan.
She is survived by two sons Robert M. and his wife Julia Melanson of Lexington, MI, Thomas G. and his wife Patricia Melanson of Lynn, one brother Sochan Nakaruma of Tokyo, Japan, seven grandchildren Renee and her husband Lee Philbrook of Peabody, Kevin and his wife Maureen Kleinstiver of Troy, Michigan, Paul and his wife Radhika Kleinstiver of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Evan and his wife Laura Melanson of Amesbury, Samuel and his wife Kimberly Melanson of Exeter, NH, Rachael and her husband Jim Flurry of Templeton, MA Brian Melanson and his wife Kathleen of Lynn, thirteen great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Service Details: Memorial visiting hours will be held at the Parker Funeral Home 35 Franklin St. Lynn on Tuesday Feb. 20th from 3:00 – 7:00 PM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend.
