Mrs. Edna G. Haney, age 82 years, of Lynn, died peacefully Wednesday, at her home surrounded by her family, after fighting a lengthy battle with heart disease. She was the wife of the late Charles Haney, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage. Born in Lynn she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Louise (Shillington) Smythe. She attended Lynn schools, and graduated from L. C. H. S., class of 1948. A lifelong Lynn resident, she was a hockey and football Mom when her son played both sports. Edna was active in Brownies and Girl Scouts when her daughter was active in those groups. She was also active in the PTA. She was a secretary at the General Electric, prior to meeting her husband, after which she became a devoted housewife and mother. After raising her family she did clerical work for a temporary agency at various locations prior to her retirement. She was a mall walker at the Pheasant Lane Mall in NH. Edna enjoyed shopping, people watching, and traveling. Some of her travels included the Great Smokey Mountains, and Hawaii. She is survived by one daughter Patricia A. Haney of Lynn, one son Jack J. Haney of Lynn, one brother Robert Smythe of Gilford, NH, and several nieces and nephews. Service Details: Edna’s funeral will be held at the Parker Funeral Home 35 Franklin St. Lynn on Saturday at 1:00 PM, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend.
