Kenneth E. Small

U.S. Veteran

Mr. Kenneth E. Small, age 91 years, of Danvers, formerly of Daytona Rd. Lynn, died Saturday, at the Abbott Nursing Home in Lynn after a brief illness. He was the husband of Nan A. (Semple) Small with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. Born in Lynn he was the son of the Ralph E. and Bessie P. (Woodworth) Small. He attended Lynn schools and graduated from L. E. H. S., Class of 1939. He also graduated from Bentley School of Accounting. Ken served in the U. S. Army during WW II. He was employed at the General Electric, Riverworks Plant as an accountant, and retired as a Financial Manager in 1983. He is a member of Grace United Methodist Church, a member of the former Presbyterian Church in Lynn, Kearsarge Lodge #217 I.O.O.F. in Swampscott, Golden Fleece Lodge A. F. & A. M., where he was a member for over 50 years. Ken enjoyed golfing, playing cards and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons James K. and his wife Cheryl Small of Reading, Douglas R. and his wife Beth Small of Tewksbury, Robert A. and his wife Michelle Small of Lynn. He also leaves six grandchildren; Steven, Kevin, Jillian, Alexa, Emily, and Kenny. Ken was predeceased by his two brothers Russell and Ralph Small. Service Details: Ken’s funeral will be held at the Parker Funeral Home, 35 Franklin St. Lynn on Wednesday at 11:00 AM, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours are on Tuesday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM.
